We arrived back here yesterday afternoon after a really marvellous week of adventures. I've tried to post some pics but the internet is very slow at Mum's and they'll have to wait until we return to Wales next week.
After my last post in Bologna we visited Le Marche - a beautiful, almost wild region with hilltop towns and villages, stunning landscapes and scenery, friendly people and good times with our son's godfather who is a very dear old friend. We also had a delicious fish lunch on the beach. Le Marche has everything - mountains, hills and sea.
Then we spent two days in Ravenna where we saw almost everything there is. The Byzantine art there is amazing. It was very hot and humid and our feet were aching from walking to all the different monuments but it was worth it. I can't wait to show you my pics.
We travelled back to the Veneto yesterday. It was a public holiday for Ferragosto and the roads were quiet. Last night I started to develop a sore throat and I'm afraid it's turning into a full-blown cold. Grrrr! We've got a week before we return to the UK. I've got to do some writing and rewriting before the end of August when I'll be sending a partial of the WIP for appraisal by the RNA. But I've recharged my batteries, thought about it a lot and am ready to get cracking again.
The A Level results come out today and I'll be contacting my Head of Cluster to find out how my students have done. Fingers crossed!
I'll say 'bye for now but I'll try and visit some blogs over the next few days. Take care and enjoy what is left of the summer!
